“Layer upon layer, life is to wait for the pungent to mellow into sweet.”

“Not the tomatoes blushing red, it’s your radiant life that glows.”

These verses among many other poetic lines are found everywhere on the shelves across the newly renovated farm produce market at Shihui Neighborhood Center in SIP, making shopping there like a journey to literature.

This is part of a two-month reading-themed exhibition co-created by Shihui Neighborhood Center and Duzhe (Readers), one of China’s best-known magazines.

Another part is the Story Store, which features pink and green hues. Visitors can find classic quotes from the Duzhe magazines.

The exhibition also includes the “Readers’ Oasis” which allows the visitors to gain a holistic picture of Duzhe’s development trajectory and immerse themselves in past and contemporary stories.

Outside the neighborhood center, the huge installations like the “big lemon reading a Duzhe magazine” and the “tomato” on the wall attracted many people.
