Recently, Loufeng Sub-district in SIP was recognized as a culturally advanced place in the seventh nationwide selection for its high performance in multiple aspects such as improving public spaces, grassroots governance and people’s well-being.

One of the major achievements the sub-district has made is a series of renovations carried out along the Suzhou East Ring Road to improve the facades of buildings and stores, sidewalks, footbridges, and streetscapes. Following that, a number of old residential quarters were renovated, too.

To offer local residents more public spaces for leisure and recreation, the sub-district has created a number of pocket parks, and opened the Loufeng Yangcheng Lake Agricultural Education Base for people to learn about farming and enjoy the joy of harvest.

The sub-district has adopted a work mode combining collaboration with other sub-districts, specialized inspections and resource integration to take full advantage of the efforts and resources of all stakeholders to ensure effective urban environment management.

Moreover, the sub-district has made great efforts to improve residents’ quality of life and cultural literacy and tastes, including holding various events such as public lectures, festival celebrations, and volunteer service campaigns.
