SIP’s Jinji Lake Sub-district hosted an event on May 24 to usher in the Chinese Dragon Boat Festival that will fall on May 31 and the International Children’s Day on June 1. The event attracted about 300 children and their parents.
The event showcased the sub-district’s achievements in protecting minors and showing care and love for children living in difficult circumstances. A Q&A activity was held to strengthen the legal awareness and self-protection capabilities of both parents and children.
Many children gave performances on the stage, singing songs together with their parents or alone, playing musical instruments, reciting poems, or dancing. There were knowledge quizzes at the intervals of performances, designed to help the participants know better about the Dragon Boat Festival, and also games where the participating children experienced the fun of teamwork.
A charity fair was held concurrently, with three of 18 booths accepting donations for children in difficult circumstances.
