Recently, the Ministry of Education of China unveiled the 2024 list of schools featuring football education. On the list are 5,892 schools located across the country, of which 39 schools are located in Suzhou, including five in SIP. It is learned that since 2015, SIP has seen 35 schools of such kind recognized nationally.
In recent years, SIP has leveraged football as a catalyst for deeper integration between sports and cultural tourism. In terms of infrastructure, the Yangchenghu Peninsula Football Park, featuring five high-standard natural grass pitches, has hosted a variety of elite tournaments.
Additionally, the Suzhou Football Association Activity Center was put into operation at Xinghua Street Tourist Center in April to popularize the sport of football, promote youth football training, and facilitate the fusion of sports, culture, and tourism.
Moreover, SIP has made great efforts to turn green spaces, community spaces and urban corners into football fields of different scales.
In terms of football events, SIP has secured the permanent hosting rights for the finals of the “2034 Cup” Primary School Students’ Football Games, and has hosted a diversity of football matches such as the Chinese Super League, CFA Cup, and World Cup qualifiers. The final of the 2025 CFA Cup will also be held here.
From youth training to industrial integration, SIP is using football as a driving force for urban development, striving to infuse new vitality into local economy.
