The two-day UNEP FI Regional Roundtable Asia Pacific 2025 kicked off in SIP on June 19. UNEP FI members from around the Asia-Pacific region and about 300 academic experts, policymakers and representatives of financial institutions from 23 countries and regions participated, exploring innovative strategies and sharing best practices in sustainable finance.
The UN Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) is a partnership between the United Nations Environment Programme and the global financial sector, aiming to promote sustainable finance.
As part of UNEP FI’s biennial series of five major regional events on sustainable finance in 2025, the roundtable features key discussions on net-zero banking and insurance, climate and transition finance, financing clean energy, just transition, and ESG data solutions, among others.
At the event, Sika China, an SIP-based subsidiary of Sika AG, a Switzerland-based specialty chemical company for building and motor vehicle supplies, proposed the initiative of building a financing system for full life cycle of green building materials, calling on the development of diversified financial products for all operations of manufacturing enterprises.
Additionally, the branch of SIG Combibloc Group, a world-leading aseptic packaging solution supplier, shared its good practices in green production, and SIP Urban Development Research Institute showcased a public service platform designed to help businesses get sustainability-related loans.
