The Black Tie Boxing Academy from SIP recently impressed visitors to the 4th China-CEEC Expo in Ningbo, East China’s Zhejiang province with its notable role in popularizing the sport of boxing as well as facilitating cultural and tourism exchanges between China and Croatia.
The Black Tie Boxing Academy was founded by Goran Martinovic, a former member of the Croatian national boxing team, in 2015. It provides boxing classes to people aged from 4 to 65, and offers brokerage services to those who want to become professional athletes. Early this year, the boxing academy was authorized by the Croatian Boxing Council to provide services for members of Chinese boxing clubs to gain entry to international boxing events.
Goran Martinovic has been engaged in promoting exchanges and cooperation between China and Croatia in sports and culture. He played a significant role in promoting the establishment of the “cultural tourism windows” of Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina in SIP last year, and opened the Croatian Cravats Museum in the area the same year.
At the expo, the Black Tie Boxing Academy offered boxing performances, and showcased its achievements in driving international exchanges based on sports. It also gave the visitors introductions to tourist resources in Central and Eastern Europe, Croatia’s traditional necktie production techniques, and sports-related learning programs.
